What
is RAID 10?
RAID
10 combines the advantages and disadvantages of RAID 0 striping
and RAID 1 mirroring in a single system. RAID 10 provides the
improved performance of striping while still providing the redundancy
of mirroring. RAID 10 requires a minimum of four disks. RAID 10
is the combination of forming a RAID 0 from two or more RAID 1
arrays. It allows up to one disk of each sub-array to fail without
causing loss of data.
The
capacity of a RAID 10 is the smallest hard drive capacity multiplied
by the number of disks in the array divided by two. |
